I've noticed this with another seller on E-bay aswell, "Littleshano". He always has good stuff, but it always brings top dollar. My only theory is people have these sellers saved as favorites and get their listings emailed directly to them, then just bid on their items rather than search around for other peoples items.

Sometimes there is no obvious logic to what is going on. If 2+ people want something, it can get bid up to a price that may never be matched again. I sold an item for surprising money a couple years ago on eBay. Put another one exactly like it on eBay a few months later and got less than half what the other got. Different time, different bidders.

Be careful, bidding on Littleshano's listing's he is a bigcrook. Regularly and knowingly sells reproductions as originals mixed in with his listings. As noted in this thread: http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=363603
