Is this real? It is in awfully good shape it seems. Sure looks real but would an original ever have the red bleeding around the edges like that? Maybe the blue is just chipped away. Hard to say.
How about the price?

I would have to say that the red youre referring to is overpaint from the pump

based on what the back looks like, I would say it is/was a part of the procelain process.

Hmm... that's interesting!! Your saying if at some time in it's history the pump it was on wasd repainted.

I agree,pump repaint...I bet it would come off with a little bit of mild stripper.

a razor blade will take it off instantly...the red is from a repaint on the pump. chris

Original.....Paint stripper or laquer thinner will usually work. Price is high, but looks to be in perefct condition when paint in removed. If so, $200-$250 is more realistic.
