If that's a few, I don't want to know what a group or party of things is cool

Nice stuff.

It was also a pleasure to meet Andy. Super nice guy! It looks as if you didn't return home empty handed. I'm glad I don't see that Buick sign in the mix LOL.

"Picked a few things..." has gotta be the understatement of the year. There's enough stuff there to establish another collection.

Please, Please, Please help me understand!!

"Picked up a few things on the way back"??

I regularly see people with post's of how they bought 15-20 items over a weekend. Usually referring to their "finds" of the weekend. Finds? Where? Where/how do you find this stuff? Antique stores along your drive? Freestyle picking? Where/how do you just happen to randomly find these things?

BTW, Great finds!! What looks like a 42 Tex, a large Tydol, a massive Socony Mobil... Oh, and an Opaline, a Red Crown?? All in just a Sunday drive. How do you do that?? I would be thrilled if I came home with a small pump plate on a random drive.

Trips and stories like these are the results of stopping at one/several collectors along a route you may be taking. Its all about making contacts and putting on miles. 20 years ago you could find this stuff at antique stores, roadside stops, etc.

Thanks KZ. I guess it's gonna take me some time to get to know more people and do more networking.

Thanks again.

S.S. I got the Marathons and they are SWEET!! Thanks for everything. I think I owe you like 2, 6 packs now. Still would love to give that Texaco a home.

Andy Shell is also great, Nice job securing it with the crate for it's voyage.

Andy did a great job transporting. Look forward to meeting you both again.

Eric,
Glad to see them go to a good home. You are welcome and thanks for the positive press. For those of you that have never dealt with Maxgas, he is a man of his word and a stand up guy, have no fear when dealing with him. Same holds true for Tom Auger the other resident of Maine. Both are great guys and an asset to this hobby.

Make sure we deal on the Texaco sign BEFORE that 12 pack is consumed LOL.

Thanks again,
Ron

It actually took me 3500 miles, 6 nights in a hotel, about 240 gallons of gas, hour after hour of scanning craigslist for a couple months, checking oldgas a lot, driving a lot of backroads instead of the highway and some luck. I lucked into a couple of freestyle stops that actually had some good stuff to buy. For all that I dont think theres really that much there.
