I got this cool gilbarco gas pump. I got it for FREE, and I had to dig it out on the side of a air field. Before and after. What do you guys think?

Ya, I put an ad in the WTB. Now, I would like your guys opinion. Should I powder coat it, or leave as is? I do not know a hole lot about pumps.

Thanks

I think it looks great the way it is right now.Much more character and true to where it's been.
Be great if you could find some seasoned matching doors.

Let the next guy restore it,if at all.

Well, It was all red, but someone painted it white and made it sinclair. So there is white on the red, and plus, the white is tough to get off. I forgot to mention that...

Always worth the dig & an awesome price! Now this is just an idea but hear me out...Wait untill you find all the parts before you restore it. Enjoy it for now...collect parts & one day it'll all come together & youll end up with a nice piece. But to each their own.

I would not powder coat it unless the panels are real straight. I would go ahead and powder coat the frame and base.

Go back and dig some more, You might find your doors, I have one restored in front of my shop great little pumps. Doors can be tough to find. I looked high and low before I found a good set for mine.

I looked and could not find the doors. The person that owned it before, took the doors off. He had it as a sinclair pump. Wish I could find the doors.

Excellent pump to LEARN WITH. Work the dents out, Learn how to do Body Work/Bondo, Paint, Electrical etc.
When it's done you'll have more appreciation/PRIDE in what you CAN DO. With the high cost of auto paint, I'd start w/ Rustoleum & a spray gun. Make your mistakes w/ this one.
BUT what ever you do, HAVE FUN.

Nice first pump and the price was right. It's a 900 series Gilbarco. A common pump, you should be able to find doors. Good luck!!

I prob have some doors for ya. Lemme dig thru the piles and see what I can find. If I have some you can have em. The doors and chrome will make the pump! Great find. Those are really pretty pumps. Clean it and leave as is and enjoy it! Save the money you'd resto it with and get some food!
