hi all
wanted to show you guys something a bit different from your usual homegrown pumps.. Down here in Australia (in OZ) Wayne manufactured a 605 model, very similiar to the 515 models seen in the 50's in the US..

I just finished it off last weekend and wanted to show you guys'n'girls what pops up in Australia

I utilised the last pic (gotto love the fashion back in the 60's) to get the build done..

If your wondering... Golden Fleece was solely an Australia brand that got taken over (by Shell Australia I think??) back in the 1970's... was servicing Australia for about 40-50yrs..

I drop some more builds of mine soon..

Cheers

Martin

the globe is like a thin plastic fiberglass mould... was made in two pieces, plastic welded together then glued to a perpex plastic base...
Golden fleece were known for this "Ram" design and they were cast alloy on early period visable pumps & early electric pumps then went to this version of plastic in the late 50's so they were able to be lighted up.. Also there was another type like attached pic which was a fiberglass version which wasn't to be lighted up (note the three legs not two legs like on first pump). The majority were on distillant/kerosene/low volumne gas types as they were placed round the side of the service stations.

cheers

Martin

Interesting how Wayne moved the site glass down from the upper panel.I am trying to picture the site glass manifold set down lower. Would love to see the internal piping setup on that pump.

Nice pump thanks,
Rob

Rob

will try to do that for you.. usually within an hour in getting these pumps home the main pump, motor & pipe work gets removed to drop the weight & all the gas in the unit.. Wayne have a different version than Gilbarco down here where the pump/accumulate is built as one unit... by chance i found a pic of one assembly that someone was wanting to offload...

the main unit is at the top of the pic... but that outlet normals points to the ground.. you can also see the pipe work that would have been connected to it... looks like a mess in the pic... even more a mess when its installed.. lol..

cheers

Pretty sure Rob is asking to see the manifold inside of pump that holds the Site Glass.
