Ive found Shell,Sinclair, & Socony globes...all just about fubar. Thats whats left of a Sinclair HC globe in the pic. The signs seemed to be at a certian depth. Now I need to clean the hill off down to dirt/broken glass level again. It doesnt even look like this down there anymore! Ive pulled sixteen signs (tin & porcelain) out this dump. I cant help but wonder how many more could be there?

An archeolgical dig! In my yard if you till an area, just wait for the next rain and you find all kinds of stuff. So after the next gully-washer, you may find stuff exposed that you hadn't seen before...

Looks like fun!

An old timer told me he remembers the town used to burn the dump off to keep animals out & trash down. I didnt know what I was pulling out of the ground at first. Then That story came to me when I saw brass o-rings in the corners of a few random sheets of metal. They were burnt up signs. Thanks for all the compliments everyone!

Thanks agian,
Jeremy

The thrill of never knowing what you may find next and the excitement of finding something....must be immense. Good luck with your finds!

I was going to go down there today but the wind is blown hard & trees make me nervous. I went to another spot closer to town...it was a GOOD idea! If anyone ever saw me in the woods when I find something this awesome I must look like a total nut case. I stop and just sit and look at them in the ground for abit..with a grin from ear to ear.
