I tried to do a search but came up with next to nothing. I want to see pictures of peoples garages, basements, man caves with their oil and gas collections... I'm looking for idea's on how to display my things.

here is mine, I bought some showcases from ikea, they are not expensive and don't take much place to display

and the attic, I'm still working to have it remodeled, I already repainted all in white and will paint two walls in red soon

When I built my house my wife got to design the upstairs and I got one room in the basement. She just didn't no it would be one big room lol. I acid stained the floors so when people are over and someone drops something on the floor it's no big deal. I might be able to add a few more signs lol. Thanks for all the good comments.

Here is probably what you don't want to do with a collection in the basement. Get so much stuff over the years that you either have to stop collecting (for me not likely) or plan on knocking down your old small garage and plan to rebuild it as big as the authorities will allow. Then you can display more of the collection as it expands. Sort of like the universe's never ending expansion. I am still in the garage cleaning out stage but that is coming along slowly. As you can tell by the photos, I do like the can racks and the old display cases. The only repros are a few of the can racks which I will replace eventually with originals as I find them, but for now they work okay. Cheers, Don.

Thought I would also mention that I was somewhat disappointed in the new book 'The Fine Art of Collecting & Displaying Petroliana'. Some great research history of many interesting oil companies but only 6 pages of actual collection displays. It really doesn't live up to its title. I have always been interested in how other collectors design and display their collections because of my museum and art history background. It is truly an art form in itself. Cheers, Don,

Fantastic collections. Don, I have a wife that is a little accident prone and the first thing I thought of when I saw yours is what could happen if she walked through it!

Your collection of Canadian items and signs are really great to look at because I see so many things that I know. Thanks all for showing some of your items.
