First, I gotta say that the Iowa Gas swap meet was pretty cool. I may have to put that on my calendar as a yearly thing.

Next, I would like to thank those who have helped me with posting the Sherwin-Williams paint codes for the Sinclair colors. It's a huge help!

The local Sherwin-Williams paint store doesn't deal in automotive paint at all. Period. That's a bummer. My favorite local auto parts store sells DuPont and Nason paint, so when they looked up the Sherwin-Williams color codes, they couldn't find a cross reference formula to match. So... I have one more favor to ask. Does anyone know a DuPont or Nason paint formula for the Sherwin-Williams (Sinclair) paint codes (25056, 17272, 49994, 1551, 18151, 51114)?

I'm getting ready to assemble the engine for the Sinclair Chevy truck project. The block and head will be Chevy Gray from the time period (1950), but I'm thinking about painting some of the accessories (timing cover, thermostat housing, alternator bracket, etc.) in Sinclair colors just to tie the engine in with the theme of the truck.

Thanks again, I sure appreciate your help! If all goes well with this project, I may be able to drive the Sinclair Chevy to Des Moines next year for Iowa Gas! (crosses my fingers)

As a Sherwin Williams Supplied Body shop owner just understand that some of those color codes no longer exist. When SW updated their automive Paints in the late 90's some of the codes were discontinued and the colors have to be made from scratch so they may not be able to be cross referanced to other paint. First find a SW dealer and call them to see if the codes are still good. My SW dealer in St Paul is 651-482-7777. I had to build both the Sunoco Blue and Pure Blue from scratch cause the codes were no longer good. Good Luck!

Have the paint store Mix To Match your decal/signage. Not all makers of REPOP decals/signs used the Correct Oil Company Colors. Printing colors don't always match automotive paint colors.

Thanks for the replies. The paint codes seem to still be good. The paint computer at the local auto parts store brought up the code, as well as a color sample. The computer was also able to cross reference the S-W codes to current Imron paint codes, as well as a couple of other brands that I can't remember. Unfortunately, the brands that the auto parts store could cross to, they don't carry... so they couldn't get the formulas to mix it for me. The parts store only mixes DuPont and Nason colors, which is why I was hoping to find formulas for those brands.

I don't have decals or signage for this project. I'm planning on painting all logos and emblems that will appear on the truck. And I'd rather not try to match reproduction decals, as their colors may not be accurate.

I will call the S-W in St. Paul to see if they can point me in the right direction. Thank you both again for your assistance!
