Hello All, It was a nice day for a road trip to pick up my first large Mobilgas shield. Since they take up lots of room, I always said if I bought one it would be a local area White Star version. I was able to secure one from a fellow Old Gasser. It was a pleasure to meet you Butch, and thanks everything! It is dated 1934, and is in pretty presentable condition I think for being one of 6 buried underground and discovered about 10 years ago in upper Michigan. I am going to try and fix the hanging bracket or have a new one made as it suffered from being underground. I've purchased some scarcer Mobil cans lately. The Socony Lubrite was an upgrade. The Delvac is the rarely seen Socony Vacuum version, and was the first one I'd seen in the older serif font. The Crystal Clear cleaner was the first I'd ever seen as well. I think it was made only for station use as it says on the side that cleaning windshields increases gasoline business. It's in super shape. Lastly, the hand lotion is the 5th different lotion bottle I've found. While I normally do not buy the "blue" Mobil items, this version completes the set as far as I know and is seen much less than the ones with Pegasus on them. Last but not least, the plaque is a Socony Mobil version, I already had the Socony Vacuum version, so that should be the two versions made. The old baseball jersey is pretty cool, from the late 40's or 50's, and has "MAGNOLIA" on the back and came from Texas. S-V sponsored these teams all over the US. It was on Ebay a couple of times and was finally listed at a price I thought was fair. The Service Station design book is really neat, with lithographs of all the station designs in 1956, as well as the blueprints of each one. It also lists the color schemes that the interiors of the stations were supposed to be, as well as proper branding of the station. There are also a couple of service awards in the box, a tie bar and a Magnolia stick pin. Sorry to be a story teller, but I like this stuff and enjoy sharing it with everyone, Darin
