I have an uncle who worked at one of these full service stations in the 1960s. I'm sure these patches or something like it was part of his uniform. Northwestern retailed gasoline through SuperAmerica, Laurie Gas, Trax Oil, North Star and Webb stations when in operation. Norhtwestern was acquired by Ashland Oil in 1970. Ashland eventually changed the stations to SuperAmerica or sold them off. I worked at the old Northwestern refinery and came across some of these patches there.

I just got this one and thought it was pretty unique as I've not seen one before. I know Mobil had their own press guys that put together the company magazines in the different regions around the country. I assume they sported these patches on their uniforms.
