Hi everyone. My wife and I love signs, coin op and just strange things in general. We thought it's time to make the drive to the Iowa gas show. I'm wondering where the best places to stay are, when to show up, etc. We live in Kansas so it's still a long drive and I sure don't want to show up late or stay somewhere that won't allow us to experience the show in a good way. Thank you!

Wednesday and Thursday are the days to be there. Get there early Wednesday morning or Tuesday. Tuesday is set up day which is fun to be at also.

Friday there is a Action.

Thank you. I would assume the host hotel is already full? What is the next best one to stay at? Thank you again!

Go to: http://www.iowagas.com/
Click on "Iowa Gas Lodging"
Note the nearby hotels on the list

Compare rates and availability by clicking the link at the bottom of the list.
To get accurate rates and availability on that page, enter the dates you will be there and select "Des Moines Airport" on the list of "Nearby Attractions" to get lodging near the swap meet.

My wife and I made that same trip many years back and have been back every year since so I know you will enjoy it. Make sure you go to the host Motel (Holiday Inn) on the nights they have the room to room swaps as it's a great way to meet new people and check out their items in their rooms. Have a safe trip.

Thanks
Mike
