I just ran across an old pump which I think may have been used for kerosene. The unit stands about 5 & 1/2 feet tall, and the tag says Bennett model 1500. It has a hand crank on the side, and two markers on the opposite side which say 1 QUART, and 2 QUARTS. Any ideas, or suggestions on where to find additional info? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Tom, Your 1500 is a one gallon lube dispenser not a gas pump. I have photo copies available for $3 including postage. Ron

Ton,
Your 1500 IS a gas pump. Here is the description directly from my 1930 catalog: Big Bertha pedestal type gasoline pump. Tlhis pump fills a definite need for places where more elaborate and expensive equipment is no warramted/ Furnished with meter or counter at small additional cost.
When the 1500 was introduced they also introduced a Model 1000, this was the kerosene version of the pump. The 1000 did not have the pole that went up above the pump that the hose was attached to. The 1500 dispensed gasoline through a hose, the 1000 dispensed kerosene from a spigot.
