From what I understand this sign predates 1931 when Socony and Vacuum merge. What the heck is it doing in India?? Is this real??? A fake??

Fake,Fantasy,Made in India. Notice how poorly the word Gargoyle is done. There are many of these signs out there done in different color combinations. Looks like someone buried this one for a period of time to make it look old.

What, I find amusing is that the forger has a watermark embedded in the image. Why would anyone want to copy that sign/image?

I have seen several sellers of junk repoop signs use this ploy. It gives the buyer a false impression that they are buying legitimate product. Yes. It is sort of funny
