I am taking a bike trip. I would like to hit, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming area. I have never been there. If you had a week and a motorcycle, which states and routes would be a must in those states?

MT. and WY. Are pretty flatt at least the parts I've been in was. There is Devils tower, and you are so close to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands of SD, IF You havn't been there it would be on my list.Have a safe trip and don't forget the can of fix a flat. Have a buddy his son is stationed in Montana and have seen pics of some great country but I can't stir you there.

Sorry Loyd, I wouldn't want to argue with you. I know that Tennesee has some pretty mountains but they don't compare with Wyomings. I've been in both. SE Wyoming and Central are more or less flat but not the northwest part. The Chief Joseph Highway just east of Yellowstone. Then there is Rocky Moutain National Park in Colorado just south of me. Here is just a PS if anyone wants to come to Cheyenne the last full week in July you will be here during the largest outdoor rodeo in the world. Over a hundred thousand people show up for it over ten days. Mitch

s.d. and wyoming are a possibility. I am just looking for the best place to ride in the mountains for a week. It could be 1 state or more.

First full week OF Aug. (1st monday), Sturgis SD. bike week. Other than the sturgis area over to keystone and the badlands I think you will be disapointed with SD. I travel all the way across and its grass land farm country.

Iowa Gas to Sturgis to Yellowstone,is what I have my sites sat on ,just got to hit the lottery first. Take you more than a week. And I've been playing for years with no luck.

You could spend your entire week within a day ride of Yellowstone in NW Wyoming and not see it all. The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone's geysers, wildlife & vistas, Jackson Hole, Cody's Rodeos and the Beartooth Highway are just some of the sights.

Being an avid rider myself & normally go out west every year. Beartooth pass, Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, Going to the Sun Rd. & the Million Dollar Highway are a must. If you can make to Utah Highway 12 is also great. Anything in southwest CO. is great riding. Avoid Sturgis (aka trailer festival).

Most of all, be safe!

I was thinking about Yellowstone. I really do not want to be on a schedule. Do you think I could find places to stay at night, with out reservations?

I forgot to mention Needles highway. Jackson is very crowded & a little pricey. My opinion of Yellowstone is it's very overated time consuming. I prefer a good motorcycle road without all the tourist *****! I seldom have a home base. I just ride & look for place to stay towards the end of the day. I always have a tent & sleeping bag in case a room can't be found. Schedule, What's that? You only need a general direction.

Enjoy the ride!
