Even though the rule about "No offers to buy or sell" is in large bold print on every Value forum page, an offer to buy/sell was posted in that topic. Offers to buy and sell in the Value forum have been increasing too much lately.

Topics where rules are broken are subject to being edited, deleted or locked.

I thinks its because of the massive amount of value questions that have been asked in the last couple days. Who cares about values lets enjoy the stuff for what it is!!!

I agree. I buy items because I like them. I pay what I`m willing to pay to take it home. I`m not a picker and have a hard time selling items even when I have doubles.

Last little while I`ve noticed same item having 3 or 4 threads generated i.e. general discussion, botw, value and then for sale. If you`ve bought something simply to flip it, then put it in the for sale forum with best offer in the first instance. Rather then making everyone read about it in four different threads.

I've noticed that most of Value questions are being posted by KNOWN FULL TIME Picker Members, AFTER they have bought it then it's posted wanting US to value it for them before listing on eBay!
Other members buy an item for their collection [not intending on selling anytime soon] & are asking for a current value [HOPING to justify $$$ spent to WARDEN!].

Most that post "PM SENT" are asking if it's FOR SALE. I think PM's & Signatures should be Disabled in this Forum.

I'm new to buying this stuff and I just wanted to pipe in and say I really appreciate this forum as part of the learning process. I've only used it a few times but I'd be bummed if it wasn't here anymore.

and don't forget jumbo soda's should be illegal in NYC according to mayor Bloomberg!

so you shut off the PMs in this forum....so then you just go outside of the forum....lookup the member and send them a PM....

if you are gonna try and buy something from somebody in here and 'break' the rules....don't be stupid enough to post 'PM sent'.....Hey look everybody I'm trying to buy this item when I'm not supposed to!

It is not about the amount of questions, I have seen 3 maybe 4 threads locked when someone simply says, If it is ever for sale I may be interested. Quite ridiculous to lock a thread over that I think.
Blacktee's thread is a perfect example, Way too much authority and no common sense to lock that one.

I liked this website much better 6 or 7 years ago when it was nothing but collectors sharing knowledge and photos of cool stuff. People coming to the site was new collectors looking for knowledge.

Key word here is collectors...
