Has anyone else seen this on a WAYNE 491-492?

I had a 492 a few years ago that had that identical set up. Never seen another one until now. On mine it looked like it was retro-fitted after the fact.

Hello All,
Here are a few of my better buys of the last couple weeks....Each of these deals started out with a single purchase on eBay that turned into a better deal! I have a habit of always asking sellers if they have any other like items they are planning on auctioning and if so, I would be interested in an outside deal if they are willing. First off is the Marathon globes. I purchased the Super M lens and asked the seller if he had anything else...low and behold he had a pair of Mile Makers that I ended up buying. The man was super to deal with. The Super M was notched for glass while the Mile Maker was made for a Capco. The National ad glass matches my deco globe. I think they will look great displayed together. It was a good Marathon week!
Same thing on the pair of Mobil banners. The seller listed one but had the other for a future auction. We ended up making a deal on the second one, which is obviously a different version than I originally won. These came out of a 1930s Mobil station in Nebraska that the original owner's son still owns. I love items with a history like this. In the original location for over 70 years!
Darin

Very cool deal Darin. I like the globes and the story of where the ad glass came from. I got a call from a gentleman this past weekend that may have some rare pieces including a globe for my collection. He too comes from a family tradition of owning service stations and I like picking up vintage pieces that have some history behind them.

Thanks for the pictures!

Summer is here, the buys are starting to pick up again. Seems harder for me to actually find stuff in the winter.

...a National A that I picked up last week, from the end of 1935...the bottom of the dial faces are hinged, to allow access to the computer, which has a side totalizer...

...thanks Chris, but it's an A, not an A-1...the A had an external sight glass; the A-1 had the internal sight glass in the dial face trim...hell, I didn't even know the A's existed - until I found this one, and looked it up in Jack's book...
