DDT would kill almost anything.
Even small animals in concentrated enough amounts.
Got into water supplies, ingested by fish and would kill the Bald Eagles eating them.
Hence it was outlawed.

Thanks Gaspedlar,

Interesting article. I was familiar with DDT, but was wondering what the labling would be. Was it an all purpose use? Was wondering what the large type that's not quite legible--what would the manufacturers put down to catch the attention of the consumer? Touted for house and garden?

BTW DDT was very effective and eliminated bedbugs in the U.S. and would have been dusted on mattresses.

Dr Seuss used to do the advertising for FLIT, pre-WWII I believe. Several of his characters in his books were seen there first (or in his political cartoons).
