Good morning Loyd, Petro - and everybody else!

I'm finally getting caught up a bit. I 'shut down' the business last week so I could work on my Mom's house. I spent 4 days up there installing two new garage doors. Seems the garage door companies couldn't do what I needed to be done - apparently no one can think 'outside the box'. LOL

The doors that were there were 50+ years old, wooden, and falling apart. With only 3" of clearance from the top of the door to the bottom of the ceiling joists - it was a challange.

I bought two new aluminum 4-piece doors and low-clearance tacking. I had to move the tension rod assembly right up against the joists and put in horizontal 2 x 8's between the joists to mount everything to. Then there was the fiddling around getting everything lined up so the doors would still clear . . .

This week I'm busy making two Custom Runs of lenses - which I'll finish up tomorrow. Then it's back up to Mom's on Friday with The Keeper. Hopefully, we can get the basement cleared out. If so, that will be the end of all the junk and I can get started on the inside repairs/cleaning/painting/etc.

Later . . .

Jim

Afternoon all! Beautiful day here!
Attended my stepmothers funeral today and it was a wonderful service. She lived a long and full life and was considered a wonderful and grascious woman by all that knew her! It was a priveledge to have her in the family for the last 30 years.
Hope all is well with the rest of you!
Have a great day on me!!--KEVIN

Our condolences for your stepmother, Kevin. Hope lots of folks came to celebrate her life.

Very nice day here. Was supposed to rain, but that apparently passed us by. Next few days all have a chance of rain. We'll see how that works out.

Have a great humpday out there in Oldgasland!

Kevin,

So sorry to hear about your stepmother, but it sounds like her funeral was uplifting and life-affirming. Big hugs to you and your family!

Loyd, thanks for the wishes, but it didn't make it. That's ok, I had a winner in a Smithsonian affiliated museum last year. Sounds fancy but its not a well known place so good on CV but not a lot of traffic to see it and/or buy it. This last one was a fancy competition and the finalists would have been shown in an international magazine.

Here is the loosing painting! grin He's a friend of mine and I had a blast painting him in my studio. One of my best models ever! I had to take more breaks than he... Tho the image is small the painting is life-sized.

Edit Reason: wanted to downgrade my swelled head comment where I used the word Smithsonian. I was still proud of that tho...

What a great spring day. Partly cloudy and temps around 60º.

Since I had the day off, I spent most of the day in my rear garage swapping out an old metal shelf for a much nicer sturdier one plus a few other "to do" things as well. Had a fire burning in the barrel, got 2 walks in and had chinese take out at my place with the family tonight. Rains coming tomorrow, so probably another day off.

Sorry to hear about your stepmother Kevin. Sounds like she was the light in alot of people's lives.

HAGN.
