Saw this on eBay and when I went to take a look again there was a buy it now on it. Probably some unscrupulous buyer got the guy to put it out with the BIN and I showed up and bought it instead. I know it's happened to me before. Anyway, cheap enough to chance it. Heavy painted metal about 15" with a mounting? hole at top and bottom. Anyone heard of this company or brand. Is this a made up piece? I know it's worth what I paid lol.

I dunno, I've never heard of this brand . Still, there have been several Independent brands that have surfaced in this forum since I've been here too. Whenever I'm unsure , I ask Dick or Ryan or Jim at T-ways ......... Ed Shaver

While I'm not one of the heavy hitters club, I do think the rust on the back of the sign sure looks to be newly manufactured.JM3C's

At the suggestion of another oldgasser I rubbed the letters and discovered the whole thing is cut out vinyl or something over a flaky painted piece of metal. I don't think I did so well but I've certainly done worse.

No Blacktee, That's what I think is funny. Someone else did and I bought it. I can laugh at myself on this one. Don't mind if you or anyone else gets a chuckle too.

I don't know anything about this sign or company but I just want to say that just because it may be a vinyl face doesn't mean it's not a real sign. The CA7 Greater Mileage sign pictured below is a vinyl type material over the face of the sign. I didn't notice it at first but it appears to be a type of vinyl over the face of a sign that is exactly the same as the all porcelain GS-1000 sign. Both are Frontier signs from the early 1960's and I have plenty of pics of this sign in old Frontier magazines and have seen one other sign exactly like it. So my opinion is this type of sign is not necessarily a fake.

I go along with Rarin in that I wouldn't necessairly call a sign fake because of vinyl.I say that because I've a pair of plastic ad glasses with PDQ on them in a vinyl or vinyl like material from the 50's.I took them out of an un-restored Tok tall 39 myself.I'm pretty sure they are real because the pump also had remains of the PDQ logo on the door.

The real seal is a pretty crude sign compared to the one shown. This just has the look and feel of homemade. I suppose there is a chance it's legit but I'm getting my money back and moving on.
