I purchased this single sided painted tin sign recently out of Washington State. I may be wrong but I believe it to be a 1930-40's sign maybe even a little earlier. I base this belief on the way the wooden frame is constructed and the font style of the letters.
I googled "Pennsylvania Tires" and searched e-Bay with negative results.
Is anyone familiar with this company? Any information on the company or this sign would be appreciated.

I see the vertical version of this sign once in a while, but i have never seen a horizontal one like yours
see me at Mason Dixon Gas, Spring Carlisle M114-115, and Hershey C4E-35.

I believe vacuum cup tires were made by the Pennsylvania rubber co and they also made pensylvania tires.

I have a 54 inch dsp of pennsylvania tires. Same colors as yours but flipped. Love the sign but know nothing about the company!

Clinton, that DSP sign sounds pretty interesting. Does the porcelain finish have thick shelving to indicate it's an early sign? What era would you guess your sign to be? Any chance of posting a few pictures?

Keith, that Vacuum Cup sign appears to be a very early sign. Do you know the age of it? I would guess it to be 20's -30's from the photograph.

Here is a photo of a 1914 magazine ad for Oil-proof Vacuum Cup Tires from Pennsylvania Tires;  This ad reads that the tire is good for 4500 actual miles and the sign reads 6000 miles, so I would guesstimate that the sign is from the late 1910's to early 1920s...... Here is another ad. It is dated 1924 and they have changed the name of the tire and dropped the mileage;

Nice tire stand in very nice condition. That probably predates my sign; just guessing based on the font used for "Tires" on your stand.

I once had a four foot neon Pennsylvania Tire sign. Way back in the last century (1991) and nobody wanted it, had to almost give it away. So much for the good old days.
