Here is a 1958 photo of a Pure oil station in North St. paul, Mn. near my Body shop, and a current photo of the same Building today. At least it's still a gas station of sorts.

Any other members have photos of past and present or simular.

Thanks
Mike Matteson

Here is one I came across. It is in San Francisco. When I took the now picture about two years ago I did not know I had the before. I was sorting old picture I save and when I found the before I thought to myself- I have seen this station before. The before looks to be early 30s, the now was taken just under two years ago.

Hopefully that building is being protected or that someone is going to move it to a new location because no one should be allowed to destroy such a wonderful piece of history!

I would love to have it, but I do not want to live in San Francisco.

Fred Day's richfield station. 11th and mill eugene oregon

The new owners took out the windows because of the heat in summer and cold in winter. Fred day added the back later on and his wife had a art studio there. I have a bunch more local stations, i just need some now photos.

As may of you know I write articles for the "Check the Oil" magazine. In order to write an article I have to accumulate a great deal of information, but sometimes I just get a great picture, but that is all I have. Can't wirte an article about it, but for just one day, many of you would like to see it or know about what it depicts.
With Jim Potts help I will soon begin posting pictures, that I call "FOR YOUR INFORMATION." They will cover just about every subject you can think of within the petro past. Many of the pictures will be of stations located all over the U.S. My hope is that any of you who live near the old station will go to that location, take a picture and let us know what is there now.
As for the other pictures, they will depict something that you might label 'I didn't know that."
I have done this in the past on this site so I know that this type of post does not get many replies from those who look at it, but it would be nice if any of you like what I am doing, just say so.

Here's an old gas station in Japantown, San Jose, CA. It ran as a service station up until the 80's (although shut down during WW II and re-opened in 1947). The place is still in the family but is a coffee shop now. Nice place.
