Can anyone tell me what this brass shell emblem went on? The guy I bought it from thought it was a fixture in a Shell bathroom, but I'm not so sure...

It is heavy for it's size, and is threaded at the bottom.

Can't help you out with the emblem, but you won't have to worry about it if you keep taking pics while driving 43 mph without your seatbelt on!

Looked like an airbag light to me. Chevy truck? Probably the module under the drivers seat.

Wish I could help you on the emblem.

I do not think it had anything to do with Shell.I had one of brass, threaded that went on an outside hose bib. They are made in different configurations, birds etc.

It was probably attached to a base with some kind of a trophy, or a commerative item.

It's the end piece on a curtain rod, circa 1930's/40's. That's why it's got the paint on the back end. <..< >..> =..=

RE: paint drippings.

It is red paint, which is consistent with shell colors... (yellow and red)

Will call your guy 47reotravis and see what he knows...

Thanks to all who have hazarded a guess.

I'm pretty sure Hawkike is right on this. I believe it was discussed here on Old Gas, a couple years back and someone came up with an actual picture of it in use. Not a Shell item but very cool anyway! Gotta love brass!

I asked him this week , in more detail and he said that there was a rod that the map was attached to and two of these shells at each end . He said someone else saw them and told someone from a shell memorabilia place in Ill called him and asked if they could purchase them? Give him a call tell him Travis from Fredericktown told you to call and ask him about story, his name is Jerry turner .
