A friend of mine would like to trade this Butler 71 visible pump for a Clock Face; very good condition and has the original etched cylinder. Let me know what you have and we can see if we can work a deal.

Thanks

As far as Clock Face pumps; just something original non restored and in decent shape; he really does not care regarding the brand or model.

Thanks

That base does not look right. Is it just me or has the base been modified?

Since John brought it up....I noticed that sheetmetal appears to be not original ...I don't see the embossing (hard to see in the picture).... and was made longer and overlaps the base by a couple more inches covering up the details of the base. I believe the sheetmetal is reproduced by someone? with the correct embossing.

Jim

It looks that way because its not a 71! Its a later model Butler and the sheet metal and base are correct. The pump actually bolts to a plate thats attached to the base with the 2 bolts that are showing! There was no cast iron access door either. Kind of a cheaper made copy of the Butler 71. I forget the model number of the pump??-----I think it was an 87?? I have had one before and I sold it to "Old Racer". Maybe he remembers the model number. I have seen others in different collections too!

Thanks for the feedback on the pump; I will post more pics. The owner has taken off the skins and they are original, there are some markings as well that I will post pictures of.

Thanks Again

Really!...I have seen guys cut flat sheetmetal to replace the original and I thought that might be the case. Couldn't understand why you would cover up the base details.

HUH??!! WHAT? NOT A 71?? YOU TOLD ME IT WAS! Am I protected by a 14 month return policy??
You want me to remember what model that was? That pump is long gone. I brushed some paint on it and sold it to some oil tycoon in Devils Lake, ND that wanted it for his office. grin
