I may be wrong, but eBay number 190654372143 by someone with 0 feedback is probably suspicious. This pump was part of a collection back east that is on eBay now. I email the original owner to let him know to contact eBay. Unless the guy bought it and is now selling at a loss in the original owners office, this is one to maybe ask more questions about.

That was on there before! Same pump. I don't know what that guy is trying to pull. Maybe just get paid and run!

It has free expedited shipping via the USPS. Nothing suspicious there..........

I called the eBay Customer Service line and brought to their attention the 2 auctions.... The eBay rep after seeing the 2 auctions, said that she was filing an internal report.. She asked me to file a report also against the seller with 0 feedback... The rep said that she was recommending that eBay contact the seller with 9 feedback to see if the 2 auctions are somehow tied together? She said she is suggesting that the one doing the follow-up ask if the seller with (9) gave permission to the seller with (0) to use his photos and descriptions...

She found it humorous that a 10'+ tall gas pump might be sent via USPS.....

If making a report of the pump, she suggested reporting it as a copyright violation.....

Hopefully eBay will end this auction if it is found to be bogus....

If you report it as a Copyright Violation - you might as well spit in one hand and hold the other out waiting for them to do something. You will have a very wet hand and they will never do anything.

I have reported auctions using my copyrighted artwork - and provided the Copyright Registration Numbers that appear on the Copyright web page in my name - and they do nothing.

Much easier to collect their fees than it is to protect someone from being ripped off.

Later . . .

Jim

Just got an email saying he pulled the ad because he had to go to spain. I could go and inspect it before I purchase though and there will be no shipping and handling. Just thought everyone would want to know, and by the way the final price is $2550.00.

This is an e mail I got from him this morning, I aske him a question about 4 days ago.
Hi,
My 1927 Gilbert and Barker Gas Pump is not on eBay anymore, but it's still available for sale.
My usual schedule has been changed and I had to go to Spain to take care of some business and that's why I closed my auction.
The final price for the pump is US $ 2,550.00 including all the shipping costs and insurance.
Also I want to let you know that you will have the opportunity to receive and inspect the pump before you actually pay for it. If you are interested and want to know more details regarding the purchase just contact me.
Thanks,
Andy

P.s: If you want to see more pictures with the pump let me know your email address or contact me directly at: andybrenner11 (at) gmail. com
