I understand that some people don't like having their name out there, so they pick a user name for Old Gas...

But, please think about adding your name to your profile? I am terrible at remembering names! When sending a PM, I like to have a more "personal touch" when writing by addressing the member by his/hers name... Maybe that is old fashion, but I am getting old rapidly....

If your name is in your profile, non-members will not be able to see it. But it will make it easier for Old Farts like me to converse with you...

I try and save every name and address that I get from doing "business" (when I buy or sell an item) with Old Gas members.... To me it seems to make contacts more personalized.....

Thanks for reading and possibly adding your name to your profile if it isn't already there...

I agree Bob, I think everyone needs a Real Name in their profile & not just a Monicker!
Some things would never be posted IF they were using Real Names. I've thought about changing mine to B** R*******! LOL

I also agree. I always look at their profile but lots of times there is no way to even tell what the members first name is.
PS I seem to be getting old really quick too.

Even when I gave my real name, Dwaine Buck still got it wrong. LOL.

I "earned" the name, Distant Thunder, a long long time ago. It was, in fact, even on my program badge at Northrop ASD. I figure, that if Northrop, The US Air Force, and the DOD, can reckognize my use of Thunder as my name, Oldgas can too.

Jeff, my nickname comes, from my first tour in 'Nam.... I use it for emails and such, as you know.... so yes I do understand....

I just wish that those I do not know and/or remember would help me out by having their real names in their profiles.....

For those that don't know... My nickname is rain.... Partly because I am from the State of Washington... Mostly because in the Military my MOS was 11B and I was the Unit Sniper when I was in the 1/'08, for my platoon while in the 75th during my first tour and also with my Team(s) in the 5th... My job, "was to RAIN on someone's parade" So for a call sign, I picked up Rainmaker.... it has been shortened...... My Ex claimed that my nickname should have been "Thunder and Lighting" especially when I lose my temper..... I'm trying to work on that, but honestly "Thunder and Lighting" does fit when I get upset......

Yup. But does the old uniform still fit? LOL...

For some silly reason though, my call sign was Mishka.

I understand your point, but after what just happened to a friend of mine, I am no longer even signing my first name after I post on here, or anywhere. Too many crazy people out there.

John, not sure what you mean, but that is okay... I was hoping that members would add their names to their profiles... I wasn't hoping or expecting that members would change the way they post now... I hope that made sense?

I understand that some don't want to add their names to their profiles and that is their right... Just makes it easier to PM someone if you know their name (or atleast it is for me)....
