I'll second that about the Irsay's... We have a deep hatred for that family in Baltimore... DEEP!! Manning was one of the best, if not THE best... He'll be in on the first ballot and truly deserves it, he's a stand up guy..

Peyton was tabbed the Colt's 'franchise player' for 2011....with the additional designation of 'exclusive'.

According to NFL rules 'exclusive franchise players' cannot negotiate with other teams. The players' team has all the negotiating rights to the exclusive player.

That being said...the Colt's cutting him was the only option they had in meeting Peyton's desire to play elsewhere.

So actually...they were doing him a favor.

I havn't really followed this since the superbowl. There was talk of the big payout they would owe if they renewed with Peyton, and the unclearness if he would heal and be 100 percent.
Have allways been a big fan of his since he played for TN.
I think his brothers stats with the amount of ball he has played are better than Peytons?
Who ever gets him will benefit greatly,I think. Maybe the colts can put it together ,as they really seemed to suffer his lack of play last season.

If Peyton goes to Miami, it should help our struggling Browns with the hope of getting RG3. God knows we need all the help we can get.
Baltimore isnt the only city that doesnt care for another city.- They magically came up with our team W/the Lerner-Model coup. At least Cleveland didnt have to steal a team to get one. Our fans raised hell and wouldnt be quieted until justice was carried out and we were awarded the BrownsII through expansion.

Hate all you want. We got the team, we got Peyton, we won a Superbowl. I've met Jim Irsay. He may be eccentric but he is still a good guy. Did what had to be done. Not an easy decision. Peyton and Irsay stood side by side at the announcement. Time to move on in Indy and Baltimore.

I saw Peyton play in his senior year for the Louisiana State High school Championship final...he was awsome then...

but to take up the option for another year for 24-28 million, four neck surguries..and don't really know how he will hold up? Too many if's....retire Peyton...don't go out like Brent Favre did...Your wealthy, you make millions in endorsements, and could pick any sports program he wants to be on....why risk your health. The neck injuries were serious....
Retire Louisiana boy...you did good. Fast shot to the Hall of Fame.

OBTW they lost the State Championship that night.

Andrew luck will be decent. doesnt have the arm of peyton. He was the only college player that called his own plays, and hes very intelligent. Im hoping the colts take griffin, so the browns will get luck. Been a browns fan since the days of kosar and kevin mack.

JimT - at least your team got to keep the name, uniforms, records, etc...there is STILL a Cleveland Browns...you don't have to pull for the Cleveland Rocks, and watch the Los Angeles Browns...

...bustermonty - gloating? that's nice...

...my folks grew up in Baltimore...my Dad and I tried to get tickets for the 'Ghost to the Post' playoff game at Memorial Stadium...the only tickets were $40 each (a lot, back in the day) and so my Dad and I just walked around Baltimore, while he told me about growing up there and how the city had changed...

Well it looks like Peyton will not be out of a job for long. Acording to Denver television news he spent four hours talking to John Elway and the Bronco owner today and looking over their vacilities. On the 10 o'clock news he was getting a police escort to some sports bar in Denver. They said the police escort was for his safety. Mitch
