I restored this for a customer whose father owned a general store with a Shell gas pump.
This is the original pump from their general store.
Since I am into 60-70's Mopar Muscle cars; I like the newer pumps as they are more period correct when displaying them amongst my cars.
I've attached one before picture as well.

Nice to see those newer pumps. These are the ones I remember growing up with. I think these will "come of age" very soon and become more sought after items. I wonder how many more people out there have these newer pumps, but are intimidated enough to not show them to us because of the possible backlash from those who don't care much about them. I say - get them now- before the price of these pumps go up.

Thank's for all the positive comments. I was somewhat hesitant about posting pictures of a 1960's gas pump. My decision was made easier when I read the other two posts with the newer pumps.
It's interesting how 1960-70's cars, signs, oil cans and other petrolriana collectibles can be found in everyone's collection. But, somehow the gas pumps from the same era are shunned by most collector's. I wonder why that is?

Hey Dave your pump came out beautiful. My thoughts on your comment about why most collectors dont go after these is that I like stuff that Ive rarely seen or maybe never have seen. Kinda like how in N. Ohio ,sometimes I have to wait for deer to get out of the driveway so I can get out. I barely notice them. But if I am to see, say a fox, I'd get out and try to take a picture. Thats all. I still think deer are beautiful but theres lots of them. I think these pumps will get more and more popular before very long.

Thanks Jim.
I think you're right. I can agree with your insight. Where, I live we're surrounded by Mountains and green vegetation year around. We become complacent and don't even notice the natural beauty that we're surrounded by.
Whereas someone visiting from the prairies or other parts of the world, just can't get over it.
