A while back (last winter), I posted some pictures of a porcelain paneled Erie 753 LP, that I bought from Jeff Anderson in Milwaukee. Well this pump had to be completely disassembled and cleaned before starting on the problems and I accomplished that last winter and I posted pictures of the cleaning process for all of you, but the pump was missing one panel on the lower area and another panel was badly chipped with a small hole cut into it! HHhhmmmmm? What to do??
I started researching porcelain repair shops in the US and finally found a shop that repairs porcelain stoves and they indicated that it would be no problem. I took the damage panel to a machine shop and had a replacement cut out of raw steel and had the holes prepunched at the same time. I also had the measurements for the swinging door that was missing and had them cut me one of them too! I took some pictures of the old panel and then marked the new steel so there would be no mistakes on which end was up and I welded hinges on the door piece! Next was to box them up and send them off.
It took about 3 months but my package arrived this week and here are the 2 new panels alongside the damaged one. The other pic is the pump showing the missing door.

All told, it cost me about $150 to have these 2 panels porcelain coated in 2 colors and that includes the shipping! It would have been cheaper with one color.
Today I got a call from the owner of the company, inquiring as to how it turned out and asking if I was satisfied! How pleasant to have that happen in todays fast paced world!
If anyone needs some panels porcelain coated, then this is the place. The owner is very knowageable and willing to talk with anyone about their concerns. I highly recommend this company!!
