I came across an old rotted oil barrel that has two large(bigger then 15") round SOCONY Motor oil Signs that I have never seen before. They are on a round type barrel. Does anyone on here know which ones I am talking about? I cant seem to find a picture of what they look like and did not have a camera to take a picture. If anyone know which type I am refering to I would appreciate an aprox value. They look nothing like the regular 15" "SONY" Lubster signs.

Thanks,
Keith

Well I was able to purchase the sign. The sign is about 15" but the strange thing is it has tab's to hold it to the barrel and no holes/grommets. I am very happy to add it to my collection. I even got it from the ORIGINAL station! Here are some before and after pics of the clean up!

...weird...I'm lookin' at the very same sign, but this one has grommets at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 & 10:30...

...in your first post, you said 'signs' - where's the other one?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

The owner kept the other one.... His father owned the station so he wanted to keep 1. The other one was rotted. The owner was a super nice guy.

Anyone ever see this sign with tabs and no mounting holes?
