As a few of you know, I decided to try to raise some money for the Community Center in our little town. The community center provides a shuttle van to take seniors and others in need to doctors appts. etc. They provide other services too, including free, or low cost meals. I really wanted to support their efforts, so I decided to open up my collection to the public for a "gas pump museum tour".
I was only able to do it one day, so I chose the Saturday before Father's Day.

These photos were taken prior to opening my doors. I just wouldn't have had the time during the event to take any shots. Thanks to the old gas guys that showed up to support the event! When it was over, I had over 300 people visit, and took in $1,000.00 in donations that will go to the community center. It was a good day!
Thanks for the support from this site.
Don

Wow, Don!
What a great collection display and a cool thing to do for the cause.
I also love the Tydol - Associated row of green gas pumps. They make a "knock your socks off" set all together.

Thanks guys, it was a fun day. Chris, the sign is a reverse painted panel. I'm not sure what it went to originally? I've had it a long time.

Don,

I sure like the way you display your collection. Something caught my eye right away: The RICHFIELD TANK TRUCK.
I believe it was made by Bill LaRosa of Los Angeles in 90's. My toy friend has many of his trucks but would never sell them.
I believe I have posted some of the pictures here.

Also, your collection reminds me of another collector's that has been collecting for 40 years. He has some rare signs and toys! But no pumps!

I wish I could go back 40 years ... frown

Heinrik, yes the tanker was done by Bill. I got it many years ago. I also have a Mohawk visible pump, and a Gilmore double visible pump that came from him.

Don,

Your RICHFIELD truck by Bill LaRosa stands out in your display cabinet. Glad you decided to collect some of his work including the custom pumps you mentioned.

Bill LaRosa was a master craftsman to take existing trucks & come up with great pieces. My friend has 2 custom La Rosa trucks & wished had done more projects with him.

Again, thanks for sharing your photos.
