The other day i picked up an Atlas Tire Sign in its original mounting frame.
It reads " Tires ATLAS Batteries" Its Porcelain, red white blue and black. The only damage is on the black outer edge along the bottom Very minor, other than that its minty!! It measures about 9 feet 11 inches long by about 11 inches tall
Can any one help me out in the value and anything about it? Im trying to load pics but i cant figure it out..... so pics coming soon i hope

(other finds this week, White Rose Oil signs x3, and Peerless hand pump oil station with original glass)

Cheers

Thanks Loyd, I'm pretty sure Esso and Chevron sold them as well at one point?
I've brought it home since those pic's and am in the process of mounting it, a little bit challenging since I'm in a apartment lol

Thats very possable and likely. Private brands were made by,large tire companys, simpley by changing plate in mold,to read Atlas. Know Firestone had contract with sears long time running.

I'll get the White Rose signs up in a bit (x2 double sided porcelain flanges yellow with white rose, and a button that is white with red white rose lettering) I clicked a link to one of the members websites and he was selling a yellow flange in worse condition than both of mine for 225 ....also just throwing it out there i picked up a Peerless "its alloyed" B A lubester for 7$ at auction o=

Anyone have any clue of the value of the Atlas Sign?

I stand corrected, sorry clockworks, allstate is sears, oil products, and I think they just carried major brands of tires. Got a call in to some guys, maybe with better memory than mine, as to who the atlas tires went to. A lot of times we didn't know, unless we just asked the higher ups.

Well a least you didn't run out and buy something, banking on my brainfart info.

Loyd,
Atlas was a T.B.A. (tires, batteries, and accessories) company owned by some of the Standard companies. I can't remember all that were involved, but I do know Standard Ind, SOHIO, Standard KY, Standard of NJ were all owners.

Morning , Bob I seen your sign atlas with standard logo on bottom, made a believer out of me. Doc had a pic of tire , he had taken on one of his walks, but I havn't found the thread.

Don't want to high jack this post, no one told clockworks what his sign is worth, as we have got side tracked here with my confusion. Thanks

Ok, so i had a guy come over, we did some trades yada yada yada. I showed him my Atlas sign, he said its from the late 70's early 80's and offered me 500$ for it. I was thinking late 50's early 60's can any one help me with the date seeing as how no one quite knows the value?
