I recently aquired a 9'6"x4' Texaco Ahead sign. On the sign itself it says 5-71 at the bottom. On the back of the sign it was stenciled 09-41 with the name of gas station owner. I dont know which one is real date of the sign. Has anyone ran into this?

I took a look of the pictures on eBay and IMO the sign was made after 1958.

The sign is stamped on the back "Texaco Inc" and they started using that in 1959.

...maybe $100-150, in that condition...big, simple, not-too-old or rare signs need to be super-clean to rate more than that...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

$100 to $150 to someone who really wants it. Too big too rough.
