Here are my buys this week, both came from Mason Dixon Gas. The Diamond sign is single sided tin with a wood frame, it’s a real cool early sign in great condition. The fuse display has killer graphics and is in good condition, not to mention K-E is mine, my fathers and my brother’s initials…..

Chris:
NOT Phillips advertizing. Phillips was the manufacturer of the pumping assembly.
And no, they are not the same company as Phillips Petroleum.

Jim--Are you sure? That looks like an OPACO unit and I have seen them with Cities Service, Standard Oil, and Texaco, embossed in the same spot. It would seem to me that OPACO simply built these lubesters for the different oil companies and had the tooling and time to emboss them with the different companies names. Maybe someone else has seen these? Chris--is there a tag anywhere describing itn as being manufactured by OPACO?

Here is a Mobiloil I have...I believe I have a Standard somewhere also, as well as one with OPACO on it. Jim

I received this sign the other day....thought it was kind of unusual. It is advertising from a oil lease porcelain sign company.

Chris:
My apologies.
There is a Phillips Tank Company that made oil dispenser pumps that has nothing to do with Phillips Petroleum. I have one of those units.
I was not aware of the manufacturer of your unit doing specific units for different companies.
That is a cool piece - but it will have to be restored as a Phillips unit now . . . so you will need a pump to go with it! LOL
Later . . .

Wellllllllll.......
A couple of you wanted to know what I bought at Mason-Dixon and here is all for $32 dollars (I can see you are very impressed by this). It's bitty baby steps for me...
Petroliana--um does the car on the Peter Coddles Trip (an early Mad Libs type game) box count? Wait! I did get the 'For The Automobilist' article out of the Knickerbocker Theatre magazine. Doen that count? : o
It was great to meet Keith, Mark, Mike, Paul (and his son) and Doc. I forgot Paul's son's name and I know there were others I met but I was a little overwhelmed by everything, too much visual stuff crowding out remembering peoples names.

My 2 major Mason Dixon purchases. I already had the Gill body and was happy to find some nice lenses for it. Don't know much about the Hi-way globe but the price was right and I liked it. Also bought some leaded gas signs for my pump project but didn't include those in the photos.

I almost forgot...I bought my first can and it arrived the day before Mason-Dixon. I figured it must be real valuable since DB replaced his twin pump avatar with it. AND I heard (was it you Thunder II that told me?) it was such a smelly product that it could keep the deer out of Bob's cactus garden.

A friend called from an estate sale about some radio tubes. I also collect 1930's & 40'S radios. They turned out to be TV tubes, but I did find these in another box. The spark plug box looks new and there are 8 new plugs inside. What is the age of these or are they even old?

From the way you worded your question, I am guessing I got the new, improved, CLEANER version of Weasel Motor Oil... : )
That or there's a joke in there I don't get... : o And probably don't want to know...TMI I am sure!
Anyways the can has given me ideas for a custom B-day gift for a Brother-in-law who is hard to buy for...
