Many members here and known collectors have bought from him. I was a little suspicious when I got it, but didn't think anyone would bother to make this particular sign. After looking closely I'm embarrassed to say it's pretty obvious that it's made up. After looking at all the pictures of the others that have sold you can see that they are all made the same way , with the roughed up background color. The give away is that most are all the wrong size, or single sided instead of double. Also they are made of a heavy galvanized, shiny finish metal. The Mobils listed tonight are fantasy signs. I emailed Tom and a couple other members to see their opinion on them.

Db, Not sure. I have contacted 3 other members that have bought from them. Maybe if we all contact seller something will be done. I doubt it. Probably will have to go thru Paypal. Since some of these were purchased quite a while ago, not sure if they will help or care.

I would think if enough told PP their service was no longer needed & why, they'd reconsider. Post Office might be another option if they delivered the signs [interstate fraud].

...it sucks that these are being made - that said, whoever hand-painted these things has obvious talent...probably some poor sap in another country getting paid $1/sign for his efforts, with little knowledge of their true purpose...I wouldn't waste my time with contacting the seller about it, if he/she is fronting ALL of these as coming from 'a friend's grandfather's barn', they obviously care very little for the truth...
...those who have been cheated but this seller should get together, print out all of their emails, as well the auction info before eBay deletes it, and contact eBay and the Post Office...if this ain't mail fraud, what is?
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Damb it, I just won a sign from this ***** hole. I just sent an email to them and said I wanted my money refunded. I told them I know they have not sent the sign since it is a holiday and I payed for the sign last night.
When I thought about buying the sign on ebay, I searched his name here and found nothing. Thus I felt pretty good about the bid. Then today I am board and start looking around on here and find out he's a scammer. *****!
I am recommending that in every post we make about a seller on ebay who we suspect is fake or real, we post their ebay seller name in either the topic or first line of the post. This way we can research the seller and find out if they are good to bid with or to stay wall the hell away from.
The fake sign ebay selling ***** wipe we are talking about in this thread is named: starkeysigns123
I will let you guys know how my request for refund ends. Mike

I also contacted seller and requested a refund. The buyer of the Tydol sign did the same. I contacted a couple other buyers and encouraged them to request refunds also. If we all complain enough together, even if the seller does nothing, I think paypal will.

I'm a little late to the discussion but I did see a few of these " creations" at Hershey this year. If I would have saw one of these signs at an antique mall all by their self I would not have thought twice about them being fake, but after seeing a few of them together I drew my own conclusion.

The latest Zerolene sign he has on Ebay is a California Oil Company sign. I have this sign in my collection and mine is vintage. I compared mine to the one now on Ebay and discovered some differences. The main thing is mine says L-50 made in the U.S.A on the lower left conner. The other difference is the lack of sharpness and detail on his sign; It is like some one shot the paint with glass beads or sand mixed with the paint to make it appear old. If enough Ebay users report this seller he will be removed from Ebay; Ebay will act on complaints by the users. If you paid with Pay Pal you should be able to get a full refund being the item was not decribed as new. The found in an old barn would be a term used to decieve the bidder into thinking the item was vintage. If you paid with a M.O. you may be out of luck if the seller refuses to refund your money. This is why Ebay wants all bidders to buy with Pay Pal and of course I know Ebay also owns Pay Pal and charges all the sellers a fee for the required service of Pay Pal.

IF you used a USPS M.O. & item was shipped by USPS, the post office does have a form to fill out to request a refund. Post Office doesn't like Mail Fraud. Also IF you used PayPal thru a Credit Card, your C.C. company will fight for return of your money.

My last purchase will try to be resolved with Starkey123 and if It fails Ebay will make the call. Told Ebay they will be getting many complaints on this seller! Go get um guys!!! Kent.

I started the claim process today with paypal and was told I will get a refund shortly. If anybody else bought from this seller, PLEASE file a claim and expose this crook so others will not be burned.
