I know that along with a bunch of jokes, this guy will get an answer for his question. This question was asked over my website
www.vintagegas.com can you guys help him out? I'm going to contact him, with a link to this topic. Thanks, and have fun with this.

comments: First, thank you so much for your museum. My question is can you tell me when any chain first started offering 3 grades instead of just regular and Ethyl? And I am referring to pre 1975 and the unleaded era. I vaguely remember seeing 3 pumps at some station as a kid, and as I remember it the mid grade was called a "woman's name" similar to Ethyl. My brother thinks I may be confusing this with the movie W W and the Dixie Dance Kings with Burt Reynolds. In the movie He would say "fill her up with Ethyl if she's working, if not her sister will do fine"
Please help if you can, this has been driving me crazy for about 2 weeks now and I can't find anything on the web.
Sincerely, Mike
