Drove up to Manchester N.H. last night and bought these four signs. If anyone has a ball park value opinion on the signs I would appreciate it. The Sound Your Z signs are dated 4-57 on the small one and 6-65 on the large one. Both are in super nice condition, double sided. The other two have a bit of rust on edges, super shiny paint, light scratches and are both dated 6-65. I am going to have to sell a few of them eventually to keep moving forward with my "New England unemployed Picker" thing I currently have going.

I know the smaller size one brings more money than the bigger one. I paid $244.00 for 12"x17" about two yeas ago and mine was not as nice as yours.Mine also was dated 57. I would say $300.00 for the small one and $250.00 for the big one Some where in the that range. That's Retail.

YEAH I AGREE, THE BIG ONE IS ABOUT 31" ACROSS. I HAVE BOTH AND PAID MUCH LESS YEARS AGO ON EBAY. BUT THESE LOOK N.O.S. NEAR MINT AND HAVE SEEN PRICES LIKE I MENTIONED AT SHOWS FOR SIMILAR COND. AND EVEN HIGHER. THE SIZES ARE NOT TOO DIFFERENT....A SMALL AND A MEDIUM.

I have three flange signs like the sound your Z one. A man that i buy from called me one day and said you better get up here, i bought a truck load of Pennzoil signs that came out of a building that they were tearing down in Lexington and i only have a few left! All NOS! Thirty minutes later, i bought the last three along with a green Valvoline. (30" round) Would have bought them all! I would be interesred in value also. Good find.

I appreciate the input, I want to keep all of them but my wife reminded me that I have to keep flipping or get a job. What I need to do is start flipping stuff that I could care less about, then selling wouldn't hurt.

Keep all four and make a dynamite Pennzoil display and get a oil rack to put some Pennzoil cans and now you got something. And tell the wife going to find a job so you can buy more signs and cans and a gas pump too And see what she sez !!!!

There are two of the last one on ebay right now.

One there for $129 and $279.
The $129 has been on there for about 12 days and the $279 has been on there for a long time.

I have two of the first one and two of the last one.

The timing on getting the best price depends on the demand for that particular sign. I have seen signs loose value quickly due to a sudden flood of availability of the same sign. One week can be good for sales and the other could be good for the buyers.

I tend to buy when there is a flood of signs. Thus keeping the price down so I can get a better deal. I however am a collector with a modest budget.

Just wanted to give you a perspective from the middle of the road buyer.

Sounds like a good time to list the sound horn sign, it will be the only one on there. With my luck ten more will get listed before my seven days are up.

Why is that everyone wants to know the value of a sign AFTER THEY BUY IT?

Am I missing something here?

I have had everyone of those signs, and I only paid $10.00 for each, but that was back in 1988, so is that the value of the signs?
