I had changed the PM limit to 25, which I now realize is not enough to keep up with an active seller. I just upped it to 100 PM messages. I appreciate that many of you have pruned off old messages that you no longer really need. If that number won't cover your needs, send me a PM.

Matt, You may be right about inactives taking up resources. I'll have to work on a custom query to isolate them and see what I can do. I regularly get emails from members who have been inactive and forgot their password. Many drop in and out from time to time.

John, It makes no difference to the server if you stay logged in or not. It actually is a little easier on the server to stay logged in because it doesn't have to do the authentication routine.

Would it help the site if when we have lots of pictures to post about an item or show to use the picture Hosting sites [ie: Image Shack, Photo Bucket, etc etc] ?

In theory, it does save server resources to host images elsewhere, but I feel it is well worth it for Oldgas.com to host images because of the 100% retention and delivery of the image. If you look at older topics, many of the 3rd party hosted images are no longer available. For example, Photobucket no longer provides thousands of images posted on older, but still valuable, Showcase topics.

So if it is just for sale items it is better to use a Hosting Site ??
