I just got into collecting and building old bikes or "rat rod" bikes.

Here's one that I just finished.

I used a newer cruiser frame that I had laying around, new wheels, old tires and handlebars, old rear rack, new truss rods, a newer seat and old Shwinn fenders.

I also have this all original JC Higgins. This is one of my favorite bikes.

Here's a link to a photo album containing all of the bikes that I currently own.

Bicycle collection and Misc parts

Between the two old cars, the petroliana collection and the bikes, I'm running out of room. The inside of my house isn't any better. Have a bunch of old radios and memorabilia all over the place. My place looks like an antique store.

Just a couple of my favorites, of the many I have accumulated over the past year, are you on ratrods.

MY BROTHER AND SISTER BOTH GOT JC HIGGINS BICYCLES IN THE LATE 50'S. SURPRISINGLY MY BROTHER (NOW 60+) STILL HAS HIS. MEANWHILE MY SISTER'S BIKE FELL INTO MY HANDS AND I HAD IT AROUND FOR MANY YEARS (SINCE 1971). I TRIED MANY TIMES TO SELL IT UNSUCCESSFULLY FOR $100 AND IT WAS IN GOOD ORIGINAL SHAPE. I EVENTUALLY JUST GAVE IT TO A LONGTIME FRIEND WHO IS INTO THE HOBBY ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO.

I was down in the barn last week looking around and have a couple oldies, full size mans Westfield and a smaller Schwinn Red Hornet, not bad nor not good. Anyone know the scoop on Westfield bikes. It has the rear rack and kind of fancy seat.

I'm beginning to think that we need an Oldgas old bike forum here..... Would my bike be petro related, if it was a tanker?

No, I haven't KZ. Check out "Now I know what to do". Its a spinoff of "Gender reassignment". That builder, his name escapes me, actually named my bike, saying that it looked like his bikes "Evil Twin". Both of our bikes, started life as girls bikes. A little fire, a little steel, a few Silver Bullets..... You get the picture.

My '51 DX is probably next. Maybe another springer, I like those Monarchs, but I'm not sure yet.

Michelle is getting tired of all my collections but she loves this bike. So do I.
It is a Worksman INB (Industrial Newsboy Bike). The company is the oldest American bike company still making bikes in the USA.
