I bought my first gas pump to restore. A 1965 Gulf gas pump made by Southwest. The pump is in pretty good shape. I would like to see pictures of a restored pump. Please email or post pictures. Also if I need a few exterior parts what is the best place to look?If anyone is interested in trades for Texaco items I may do that. My father worked for Texaco for 25 years. Thanks

Hey folks, I just bought my first gas pump and on a scale of 1-10 it is in about a 7 condition. It is a Ford Benzol pump but I haven't stumbled across any photos on the internet yet to see what it should look like. I am also interested in what I should or shouldn't do to restore this pump. If you have any thoughts or ideas I would like to hear from you. nek

Ford Benzol never made a pump. Are you talking about the globe that go's on top. Would love to see some pictures of it.

Doing this with a broken wrist.

Gerald, sorry about someone asking questions about another pump in your post.

Your pump is probably shown in my Gas Pump ID book, but I did cut it off at 1965. While my book shows very few restored pumps (it was written using original factory pictures) I probaby have something for your pump.

You need to post what is on the ID tag, Model number, Serial number, etc. From that I can direct you to pictures of the pump.

For a start, try: http://www.petrolianacollectibles.com/southwest%20pumps.htm

I do not have much posted for SW, but I do have a great deal of literature for that company that is not posted.

SW pumps are also shown on pages 252 to 256 of my Gas Pump ID book.
