Chevrolet kit364975 is for '34-38 passenger and 37-38 truck. That's all I can help you with right now. The GM kit #602549 Is also for the years listed above. Apparently the Chevrolet logo was replaced with the GM logo, so the tin would probably date from the '40s.

They made LaSalle from 1931 to 1940. All GM cars went to sealed beam headlights in 1940. Model 78 Ford was a 1937 85hp.

Dave,
The Chevrolet tin goes back as early as 32, the star burst logo is on a lot of Chevolet advertising from that time frame.

Thanks guys. This is somewhat illuminating and a slight surprise at the same time. Does anyone have any numbers or records that would predate the '30s? This just seems to be such a narrow time frame. Does anyone have anything on the Ford part number? Any clue what the "model 78" represents. Sorry to be filled with questions, but research is not easy on these. The original manufacturers of these tins are either no longer in business or changes over time has morphed them into something different today. Most of the auto parts companies no longer exist and any records or info on the net is sparse and tough to come by so I need use every angle I can think of. Once again I can't thank everyone enough for your help.

From my records , I can only help on the Ford Box. Those lights would have been found in a Ford dealership in the early 1930's to about 1949 when Ford went to the Maroon and sand yellow colored boxes . Uh try Stacey Brown at Antique Auto Supply in Arlington Texas too. Stacey's mind is a steel trap and if ya don't beleive me go there sometime he knows if it's in or not every time . Ed Shaver
see ya on the road folks !
