I believe this to be an original,do others agree?..if not please explain. Also, was this sign ever offered in porcelain, and would that one have been doublesided too? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...%3D1&_rdc=1The description says painted tin.Did they originally come that way,and was both tin & porcelain offered at the same time? Lastly,is that a typical price for it?

I HAVE ONE THAT CAME FROM AN ABANDONED SUNOCO STATION THAT I SAVED ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO. I THINK IT'S ABOUT 11 X 16 OR SO AND IS DOUBLE SIDED. MINE IS LITHO'D OR SCREENED HARD METAL....NO FLIMSY.
GOOD THING B/C THE STATION WAS RAZED ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO.

That sign is totally correct...and you got a great deal if you bought it. I have had that sign several times, usually brings about 300.00 plus. I have never seen one in porcelain,it goes on an oil rack.

Thanks for your input guys..I saw one at Peotone last October on a table in the 3rd room, and the seller wanted $250 for it.Expensive I thought, but I was considering going back next month and buying it.While doing a search for something else on ebay lastnight, that sign popped up,so I bid and I was surprised to have won it for that low amount, based on the one I remember at Peotone. I thought maybe this was a knock off,and wasn't sure if the Peotone one I saw was porcealin or not, thus explaining it's higher asking price.Maybe the one I saw at Peotone was a tin painted also,if they never offered a sign that small in porcelain?? If you look, that seller I won it from just sold some incredible items at respectable prices,so I'm not doubting him as much as others. ..I'm just knew to the sign ranks,I wanted to ask others opinions on here.

With the can graphics on the sign I think you did ok as long as it is in good shape Looks like the grommets on Docs have fallen off. But you can see where they used to be on there with the wear pattern around the holes.
