I am posting the following pictures of the front and back of 2 signal pump plates side by side. The pump plate on the right is about 75% lighter than the pump plate on the left. There is one hole in the pump plate on the left and 4 holes on the pump plate on the right.
A fellow on ebay bought one of these pump plates on ebay back in Novemeber as an old signal pump plate from the 1950's. The fellow sold the pump plate in Jan as old original because he thought it was an original from what he was told by the original seller. The fellow was informed by the 2nd buyer that this pump plate is not an original and is refunding the money to the 2nd buyer. The fellow now wants to go back and get a refund from the original seller. The original seller is denying that it is a reproduction and stated that all his signs are old from the 1950's.
If you could please give him your professional opinion of what sign is original and what one is not and why, this information would be very helpful for him when going to ebay to go after the original seller. Any advice on what this fellow should do or say with ebay would be helpful as well so he can get his money back.
I am being general here for a reason. I have already given the fellow all the info that I know about which is original and which is a reproduction, but I thought he should hear it from multiple people. Please share as many facts as you can. Pictures of your original signal pump plates would be helpful as well. Thanks guys.

The one's in Vic's catalog also have four grommet mounting holes and the lights are also colored red. I don't know what color the back is, and measures 12" which means 11/3,4" They just round off the size.

Jason, Take a picture of yours and email it to me and then I will shoot my original all black light Signal so I can post it on known reproductions. Yours without any doubt is a fake.

The fake: 1.Two holes for mounting. Originals have four. 2. White band too wide on fake. 3. Mounting holes too close to edge on fake. 4. Terribly rusted back on fake probably no porcelain on back on fake.
