One antique dealer placed it as a fifties, automatic shut of valve unleaded pump. It has UL in a circle stamped on it. It had the number 1 in a diamond cast into it. It has a wire tage with the number 79 around it. And finally it has what looks like OPW stamped above an R. Oops, oposite the side where UL is stamped an 8 is stamped above a 66. Does any of this mean anything to anyone? The rubber cover on it is red. Please help if you are able. Thanks.

The nozzle you have is indeed an OPW #1. The red cover may signify that it is a regular or regular unlead.(some distributors just color code nozzles to company colors. The spout itself is the key. All unleaded spouts were about 3/4" whereas leaded were about 1". These are still used today but were introduced some 25 years ago or so.
