Here are some pictures of an old pump sitting on its original location at a farm in Southeast Wyoming. I think the pump is a Fry 117. Anyone know the age of this pump? Any other information about this pump would be great. Anyone have an idea about value of the pump in its present condition and if it was restored?
Chris

Very nice original Mae West you got there,,,with good glass I'd guesstimate the current value at $1500 or so....

Restored I don't know...if it were me, I'd throw a nice 15" original globe on it and call it done...

Restoration Value is in the eye of seller/buyer. Seller knows what he has in it & buyer knows how much he wants it.

I've seen some "Professional" resto's that look like they were done in the backyard & Amateur resto's that WERE done in backyard that look like they were done in a Quality shop. Some over restore & others a Quick paint job an call it restored.

To add to the info it was used 1924. I would say $1200-$1500 for value smile

I really like the solid unrestored look and with the cast base on that pump I would buy it in 2 seconds for 1500. cracked cylinder or not. You can't put a price on patina !

Nothing like finding a pump like that in the wild. All intact, I think I'm with DCpate, put a nice 15" globe on it. and enjoy. And maybe later on down the line Fully restore it and put in in the house. I would pay 1.500 for it in that condition.

Just a few years back at the CTO Show in Columbus, well actually at the auction there, a cast base one brought, I think, $4200 in unrestored shape. Of course it was "at auction". It wasn't in any better condition than the one pictured here to the best of my remembrance. It possibly could have been a 17 instead of the 117, too. But still it was a Fry.....Dale

I just picked up a twin to this its in a little better condition. It is a cast base also, wich is the first one I have had in cast. I was noticing that the top is cast also, I didnt relize they came both ways. The one I picked up has square cilinder rods too. I seem to be able to get between $1800-2000 for one around here.
Thanks
Brandon
