do you think the seller is saying for some reason the sign is a single sided sign with double flange's, like it would bolt to something. one pic. shows a bent flange, and one pic shows a straight flange, that's the way i see it.

im always looking but never find, why........

Thats not a glare in picture #3, its a blank piece of metal! I think you're missing something here and its that the seller is claiming it could be aluminum (and looks like it). If it is, that pretty well says it all.

Ray' I'm thinking it might have been made from a can too but the size is too big to be made from a 2 gal. or even a 10 qt. Definately looks like flimsy can material though. It could be a real item but I have my doubts;;;;;;;;;;;;;Ron

"Here’s a great looking Empire State Motor Oil double sided flange sign"

If you reread the ad you will see that it is a "double sided flange". Meaning that it has Two Flanges, one on each side of the sign. The sign itself is not double sided. Looking at the pictures confirm this. We are just used to when someone says double sided we think picture on both sides.

The seller makes no claim as to the sign being old or original so I do not think they are making any false claims. If you are looking for old and original I do not believe this sign would be it. That's my 2 cents.

I don't belive it has 2 flanges, i believe it has one flange with 2 painted sides * i think picture #3 is glare or optical illusion.....It you look close at the scrathes & marks on all pictures, it will cinfirm there is 2 sides to this sign.....I still believe it was made for TGIF or similar restaurant chain....one way to find out what is what, email the seller.......

18" x 14" is too large to have been made from a 2 gal or 5 gal sq. can.
2 gal = 11 x 9
5 gal sq = 7 x 12 [adv area]
Could have been made from a 5 gal Round, but I've never seen any made w/ alum.

HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN SCROLLING TO THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE AD? IT CLEARLY SHOWS TWO PICTURES OF A DOUBLE SIDED SIGN WITH ONE FLANGE...NOT TWO!

I stand corrected. Those last pictures that were added clear up all my confusion. I'll get back to my crack pipe now. HA Ha
