Good Evening Fellas -

I need some help with some pump identifications. I came across these 3 pumps for sale. A Bennett, Erie and Gilbarco. Look like pretty basic pumps, but I don't have a book to help identify them, and I'm still a rookie with these things laugh They are all in great restorable condition (Gilbarco is missing a door).

I really only want the Bennett, but am considering picking up all 3 and selling the other 2.

1. Can you help me with the ID on all 3
2. Think there would be interest in the Erie or Gilbarco?
3. What should I pay for them?

Thanks a lot for your help!

TOUGH TO SAY BASED ON THE SHOTS ONLY SHOWING THE TOP HALVES OF THE PUMPS.

THE GILBARCO? A 996?
THE ERIE? A 771 OR 991?
THE BENNETT? A 546 OR 566-B?

DON'T HAVE THE CURRENT BOOK, BUT IF YOU COULD SCORE ALL THREE FOR LESS THAN $1,200.00, YOU'D BE DOING GOOD! BASED ON WHAT I CAN SEE.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Are parts pretty easy to find for these? I won't be starting on them for some time, but thought I'd check to make sure I'm not getting in over my head. smile

Doors are one of the hardest items to find in good condition. Most other parts can be bought new from vendors that advertise here.

Gas Pump Identification and Value book is available at:

www.petrocollect.com

(Autographed by me the author)

If you don't know the value of a pump when you first see it, someone may buy it before you find out how much to pay.

Don't leave home without it.

The Bennett is the more desirable one & I have seen those go for $400-$600.
The Erie 771 $200-$250

Just a word of gentle advice from one who has been there, done that for you to consider.Unless you really want to deal with selling off the other two,and yes it can be fun, just go get the Bennett you want.

I go along with gasoildude on it.From what I can see of it,I wouldn't hesitate at $600 if I wanted it.I think those are good pumps.JMO.

You could not touch a pump in Hershey for $200-$250. I would say closer to $300-$450. Needless to say, I haven't been buying many. Brady

I'm going to pick up all 3 of them tomorrow for a pretty "fair" price. On top of these 3, the guy is also throwing in another repo "Benkin" visible gas pump, which is brand new in the box. I've always wanted a visible pump, but don't have the $$ to shell out for an original. This one will have to due for now.

Thanks again!

...Geoff - seriously, buy Jack's pump book...if you're considering dropping $1000 on some pumps, $35 for the book is a REAL bargain...IMO, it should be the first place anyone should turn for information...no, everything isn't in there and some of the prices might no longer be current - but, REALLY - it's 'required reading' if you want to mess with old gas pumps...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
