Bare w/ me as I try to lay this out.... There are several Bennett clock pumps that look similar EM-100 580 200 EM-400 EM-250 EM-150 EM-450 DM-150 DM-450 132 232 The EM-150 is the only one I see in the book that has a side reset knob. 1)Are ALL the rest face type reset clocks? Now for the second......I rebuilt a clock for an AMERICAN. the reset was on the opposite side as the Bennett EM-150s' is on, but it looks like the same clock. There are cast marks where the holes will go for the reset on either side on the frame I have here. I have seen BENNETT in the castings on the Bennett clocks. Since they are the same parts my take on all this is they were made by a certain manufacturer but the ones that went into Bennett pumps had BENNETT in the castings for ID purpose not because they were made by Bennett. The frame ONLY.... not including the rings behind the faces on this clock I have here is 11 5/16" in length, 2) Are ALL the FRAMES for the facial rest clocks w/ a letter prefix, 11 5/16" in length? Told you it was some biggies

Joe, According to my literature the EM 100, 101, 102, 105, 151 & 155 took a Bennett B-30 clock (front reset). The DM-150 & DM-450 (side reset) took a Bennett B-31 clock. I hope that is of some help. Ron

On page 54 of my Gas Pump Identification book I tried to explain what all the EM, AM etc. stood for, but here is the full explanation:
AM - Air operated DM - Displacement metering pump (with air eliminators & Pressure relief. EM - Electric operated HM - Hand operated
580 was the pump being made by Shotwell when the Service Station Equipment Co. (SSEC) purchased Shotwell and combined it with the Bennett pump company. It was electrically operated, had gallon stops and produced a cabinet that was used on many more Bennett pumps. It was sold by Bennett under the Shotwell-Bennett name.
AM-100 - Same as the EM-100, except air operated AM-200 - Same as the EM-200, except air operated AM-400 - Same as the EM-400, except air operated DM-150 - Dispenses one gasoline through single hose. DM-450 - Two individual, complete pumps for two gasolines enclosed in one housing, each operating independently of the other. Each pump supplies a single meter front & rear. DM-150E - Dispenses one gasoline through a single hose. DM-450E & DM-450R - Two individual, complete pumps for two gasolines in one housing. EM-100 - Single electrically-driven pump with single meter having dials, front & rear. EM-101 - Same as the EM-100, except with T and plug between motor and pump, with extra electrical connections to permit dispensisng through EM-102 as well as throught itself. EM-102 - Same as the EM-100 except without motor & sprockets, operates through EM-101 or EM-401. EM-150 - Electric operated, two dials EM-151 - Same as EM-150, but with T and plug between motor and pump. EM-152 - Same as EM-150, but without motor, sprockets, pump assembly, operated through EM-151 or EM 451. EM-155 - Same as EM-150, but with only one dial. EM-200 - Same as EM-100, but has two individual complete pumps and two hoses. EM-250 - Same as EM-150, but has two idividual single faced meters. EM-400 - Same as EM-100, but between two individual complete pumps enclosed in one housing, designed to handle two grades of gasoline. EM-401 - Same as EM-100, but with two individually motorizedpump units in one housing. Eqipped to operate two EM-102s or one EM-402, as well as its own pumping units. EM-450 - Two individual complete EM-150 pumps enclosed in one housing, for two grades of gasoline. EM-451 - Two individual complete motorized EM-151, in one housing. Fully equipped to operate two EM-152s or one EM-452, as well as its own pumping unit. EM-452 - Two indivdual EM-152 pumps in one housing. Operates through EM-451. HM-100 - Same as the EM-100, except hand operated, 12 strokes, ten gallons HM-200 - Same as the EM-200, except hand operated HM-400 - Same as the EM-400, except hand operated
132, 232 - The "Vento" series pumps. Bennett said "A complete new system" but the cabinet was the same as the 100 without the price box and with larger faces. 132 - Single unit designed for dispensing one grade of gasoline through one hose. 232 - Two individual complete pumps operating independently and enclosed in one housing.
Joe, I have a parts list for the SSEC & Bennett B-2 clock, sheets showing every clock face used by SSEC & Bennett, and a sheet showing every hand used (with their measurements). Also a number of parts lists for clocks made by Pittsburge & others, blend pumps and the Bowser made computers. Email me if interested.
