I know very little about globes and would like to know what the name is of this glass body. It has a screw on metal base and the 13 1/2" lens mounts with 2 screw assemblies at the 3 o'clock & 9 o'clock positions. As you can see it is missing one lens, I am also wondering what I would expect to pay for a good shape original lens. Any info and possible leads would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Bill, Like Dick said it's a hull body. It is a screw base hull and they made them with a regular base also. Hulls bodies are very thin and break easy. If you look on the bottom you might find it's marked Hull-38?
If you look in the middle of the star at the T you will notice the lens is a "black T" lens meaning it was the early version. You will find plenty of "white T" lenses. The black T was used late 30's early 40's. When you install the lenses you don't have to get the brass screws real tight as you don't want to put pressure on the lens and in this case the ledge of the body or it could break.
Good luck in your hunt!
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

There was an identical lens on ebay a short time back that had a starting bid of $150 required and it went off with zero bids. You might watch for it on ebay to get relisted. They usually show up again, sooner or later! Nice globe!!--KEVIN

Also when you find a lens make sure its real. And not marked reproduction on the bottom in small lettering.

Bill nice globe. The body is worth about $250-$300 alone. Then you can add $125-$150 for the lens.

I had that lens on Ebay on my watch list and it went off with one bid. The person who bought it had a rating of less than ten buys. The reason I was watching it was because I bought a Hull body with one black T Texaco lens marked Hull 1935 on the lens a couple of months ago. Mitch
