I just noticed on an oil jar that I have had for a several years "D-56" crudely etched on the back side.
Who would have done it & why ???

MY GUESS WOULD BE THAT SOMEBODY BACK IN THE DAY HAD ONE OF THOSE SCRATCH PENS AND LEFT THEIR MARK AND AS THEY DID IT, THEY GUESSED IF SOMEBODY LIKE YOU WOULD SEE IT IN THE FUTURE THAT YOU WOULD WONDER WHY IT WAS THERE?

HECK I DO STUFF LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME.

They could of done it as a date mark for who knows what. It could mean December 1956.
