I don't have my pump value book with me, what is a fair buy price for a 36B? It will need new face plates and I think all the trim pieces are their except for the Tokheim plate above the computer. It looks straight. Appreciate your thoughts.

I just sold a 36B for $1200. If I was to part it out, I could get about $1500 for the parts but there is the hassle of taking it apart and shipping the pieces. Condition is everything. Great condition is worth more and if the pump is in your area, thats got a big value too as it costs fro 3 to 500 to ship one. Face plates aren't important unless you want all original parts on it. Very few had decent face plates after all these years. Hope this helps!---KEVIN

I have two original Tokheim nameplates that go above the computer if you are looking for one.

I have three one for $255 without top. Two for 1100-1200 complete good metal. If I saw a nice clean one for 1000 or else it would be in my garage or under the tree with a big red bow labeled: To: My wonderful Wife for Christmas. Then she would shoot me.

Well, the owners and I have a verbal agreement. Am going to try to go get it tomorrow. I have a most understanding wife who is going to finish the Christmas shopping while I hit the road. She knows that "he who hesitates is lost" when it comes to oil and gas items. Guess I better pick up an extra present for her.

I just bought one couple weeks ago at gas bash, was $900 It was unrestored, I wouldn't have paid near that but it did have the original top so I bought it.

Well after a roundtrip of about 450 miles it is home. It has a little damage on one side but fixable. Saw some nice rural country and had a great day of talkng to my 18 year old son who thankfully went with me. Man they are heavy. People were real nice and a little amazed that someone would want an old pump. When we walked in the barn there was a Gilbarco 996 sitting next to it and they said I better take that one home too. I insisted on paying for it..it was weird... I was offering more than they would take. We finally settled on much less than it was worth. My son said it was the strangest "haggling" he had seen

Hey Alex---Looks good! Usually the spears have been broken off the sheet metal and theres open holes for the birds to get inside! This looks all closed up and might be in pretty good condition inside! It sure enough looks like a real nice pump. Congratulations! Be sure to take pictures for us, if you restore it! A good tip is to take pictures as you take it apart----it helps when you can't remember how it goes back together! LOL---NICE!!--KEVIN

Some of the spears are a little bent, abd tarnished, mayh try to clean them before I replace. The biggest problem now is trying to decide on what brand to re-do it in. Most of you know I am a dyed-in-the-wool Texaco guy. Maybe I will start a thread to see what others have done with their Tokheim 36s.

I just noticed as I was taking it apart that a piece of the top at the bottom is broken off. Guess that's why Dick Bennet never bought this one. LOL. Oh well, guess it will face the wall.
